By and large, people are unreasonably terrified of food spoilage and refrigerate too many foodstuffs for too long. Which is why most of us could benefit from learning what can and should be moved to your pantry.

Truth is, a lot of food, if consumed near the date it was purchased or with a long shelf life, is fine to leave outside the refrigerator.

There are many lists and infographics about what should and shouldn’t be refrigerated, but unfortunately there aren’t many hard and fast rules. And, if you’re like us, it’s hard to keep track of whether butter or ketchup was in or out. So we’ve created what we hope is a sensible infographic to help.
